Sculptra
treatments
......................................................................................................
Scupltra is a non-invasive cosmetic dermatology
treatment using synthetic injectable material called
poly-L-lactic acid. It is a synthetic polymer derived
from the alpha-hydroxy family (fruit acids) and is
biocompatible and biodegradable.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Sculptra is injected into the dermis of the skin
in the area of fat and volume loss. Scultra helps lift,
smooth and firm-up your skin by stimulating the
production of your own collagen. The results appear
naturally and progressivley following each treatment.
Scuptra does not correct any underlying cause of the
facial fat loss, it will help improve the appearance by
increasing skin firmness in the treated areas.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED?
Sculptra increases the volume of depressed areas and can
be used on a broad range of treatment areas. It is
particularly use to correct skin depressions around the
areas of the temples, cheeks, nasiolabial folds,
marionette lines and chin.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The effects of Sculptra vary from patient to
patient based on skin type and area treated. It has been
known to last up to 2 years following treatment. The outcome
can be maintained with tup-up procedure a few weeks after the initial
treatment.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
With all injections there is the risk of infection.
Redness, oedema, slight bruising, bleeding small bumps,
tenderness and pain at the injection site may
develop after treatment and generally disappear
spontaneously within 1 to 15 days. Occasional cases of
micro papules developing under the skin occur,
invariably disappearing of their own accord. There have
been rare cases of visible bumps with slight redness
occurring.
